18 U.S.C. §2257 Exemption Statement

All visual depictions displayed on Velvet Echo websites and applications are exempt from the provisions of 18 U.S.C. §2257, 2257A and/or 28 C.F.R. Part 75 because:

  1. They do not portray actual human beings engaged in actual sexually explicit conduct.
  2. They are exclusively artificial creations generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  3. No human models, actors, actresses, or other persons appear in any of the generated images or videos.

Additional clarification

Velvet Echo companions, avatars, images, and videos are synthetic media. They are not photographs or recordings of real people performing sexually explicit conduct. Accordingly, custodian-of-records requirements that apply to depictions of actual human performers do not apply to these AI-generated materials.
